So I like this song for these two ;u;
They don't show much affection but are actually very sweet together <3

:iconthe-blue-tides:

I spent so long on this *hides*

The sun started to rise above the city skyline shining its bright beams across the shopping place, illuminating the once dark streets. Small sparrows and mourning doves tweeting 'good morning' as cars began to fill the streets. A teenage boy, no older than 19, walked down the barren streets, pulling the hood of his red hoodie over his head.
He continued on, paying no mind the the people he passed until he reached the crosswalk. Cole stopped in his tracks, his golden gaze looking up at the sign as he waited for the red hand to exchange places for the white man to signal him to walk again. Cars zoomed past him as he felt a small vibration in his right pocket. The black haired boy sighed as he reached his hand into it and pulled out his cell phone, swiftly swiping the screen to unlock it to read the message.
'Grab some eggs on the way home.' -Ginny
The cars stopped and Cole crossed the street, pocketing his phone. He continued walking until he reached the cafe 'StarClan'. Reaching out a hand, he grabbed the door and pulled it open, walking inside the building. The smell of fresh brewed coffee filled his nose as he quickly paced to the counter, his eyes searching the menu for what he wanted to order.

Erin went grabbed her car keys and gingerly handed her baby over to her cousin, Ashley. The girl was strange when it came to appearances, her hair was gray despite her young pretty face. Her blue eyes watched the road alertly as she thought, tears rolling down her cheeks. Her boyfriend had died a while ago, she had gotten to mourning out of her system but for some reason the tears just snuck out. Was Crowley upset? As she sat at the red light her eyes looked up to the sky, it always comforted the muscular woman. What would her grandparents think of her? She was merely twenty, today being her birthday, and at home she had a young child. Cranking the wheel she pulled into the spot at her favorite coffee shop. The woman pulled her keys out and her monte carlo beeped as she locked it. As she entered it was quiet and had thousands of books covering the walls, her favorite part. The books were free to be read while you stayed, which could be for hours if you had time. Erin walked up to the counter and pulled out a few bucks while she waited for the young dark haired man in front of her to finish ordering.

After a couple of seconds of scanning the many different types of coffee, most of which Cole didn't quite know the difference between, he decided on a vanilla frappuccino. He told his order to the barista, who was waiting idly on her side of the counter, and reached into his back pocket, pulling out his wallet. Cole reached into his wallet, pulling out a $5 bill, handing it to the blonde haired woman behind the counter.
The black haired boy shuffled over to give the person behind him the counter as he waited for his drink. He leaned against the wall, his golden eyes glancing over to view her. She was a little shorter than he and had dark brown hair with golden highlights. Though the boy wasn't really into relationships, he had to admit she was quite a pretty sight. Just then, he noticed the emblem on the side of her sleeve. ThunderClan. Of course she was from one of the rival gangs around. Cole himself was from WindClan, which wasn't on bad terms with any of the gangs at the moment, but he knew it probably wasn't good for him to make any friendships with outsiders, especially from the neighboring gangs.

As the boy in front of her moved she quickly ordered her normal, "I'll have a vanilla frozen coffee." It was a weird drink but it was very tasty. Her blue eyes looked over to the boy and she realized he had been looking at her. She blushed and looked down, twiddling her thumbs as her drink was made. One of her friends leaned over the counter and said, "What're you doing here on your birthday?" Erin looked over and held her own hands nervously, "Umm I like this place." Her friend sighed and shrugged, "Get out there and have fun!" Erin rolled her eyes and looked back to the boy as he got his drink. Her friends voice snapped her back to reality, "Here's your drink. Oh and it's free since it's your birthday Erin." In her soft and timid voice she said, "Thanks again."

The boy reached forward and grabbed his drink, nodding a silent 'thanks' as not to interrupt their conversation. He held the cold drink in his hand, the water-sweat covering his palm, as he scanned the area for a peaceful place to sit. His eyes quickly spotted a secluded place in the corner near the bookshelves and he started to walk over to it.
Cole neatly sat down on one side of the table, placing his cup on its surface. His eyes glanced over to the window to the side of him and let his mind wander as he stared off at the busy street. There were times where he wished the city were more peaceful, but he wouldn't have anywhere else to go if he were to leave. He felt his phone vibrate once again and he was drawn back into reality. Cole reached into his pocket, checking his message and quickly replying before putting it on silence as he didn't want to be bothered by it again. He reached his pale hand out and grabbed his cup, taking a drink of it. The cold drink is just what he needed to completely wake him up.

Erin quietly walked back and remembered where her favorite book and walked over to grab it when it fell off the shelf and landed on the boys lap, a deep blush covered her face as she looked at him. "I..I'm sorry," she set her coffee down and felt as if she would cry from embarressment. Her blue eyes looked at his yellow ones and she waited for him to yell at her like everyone always did. Erin waited but couldn't tell what he would do, his face so solid and mature for being young.

The dark haired boy set his iced coffee back down on the table, glad to not have spilled it on himself, and looked up at the girl who appeared to be on the verge of tears; whether from embarrassment or from something else, he was not aware. Looking at her, he recognized her as the one who was previously in line behind him. Cole gave a soft sigh and picked the book up from off his lap, calmly holding it out to the panicked girl. "Don't worry about it." He replied cooly, his eyes showing slightly irritated, though he didn't appear mad in the slightest. He was growing quite used to these intrusions, so he didn't get as angered as he used to back in his high school days.

Erin wasn't sure what to do, he had been mad at her like she expected. Slowly she reached out and grabbed the book, her fingers slightly touching his. The blush stayed, slowly she went over to the table after thanking him. The brunette sat and opened her book, The Secret Garden. It was an amazing book about forbidden love and a place that could take you away from your worries and strife. Though strangely she couldn't think straight enough to read, slowly she placed her head on the table and thought of things she normally wouldn't. Like if that boy was thinking about her or if her son would resent her for being his only parent.

Cole watched the girl thank him as she took back her book and walked over to her own table. He leaned back in his chair, grabbing back his coffee and stared out the window once again. The sun was completely up now though the shades covering the window blocked it from his eyes. He tried to let his mind wander once more, though for some reason it kept wandering back to the girl, whose name was still unknown to him.
The boy leaned forward, resting his head on his hand, his eyes looking up at the people ahead of him and wondered what they were talking about. He was never much for idle chit-chat, so he occasionally eavesdropped out of curiosity and shear boredom though he was too far away to hear a word of the couple a table away was saying.
His amber eyes darted back to the girl, who was resting her head on her arms rather than reading her book. Cole contemplated talking to her before giving up, standing from his seat and slowly making his way to her table. What harm could this do? If things go bad, at least they were in separate gangs anyway.
"Is this seat taken?" He asked, lightly placing his hand onto the back of the seat across from her.

Erin looked up quickly, causing her hair to sway and her bright blue eyes shoot open. "Uh uh no," she smiled nervously and made a motion so he could sit down. Twiddling her thumbs she looked down at her book, "My..my name is Erin. What's yours?" Her smile was soft and warm despite the everpresent look of worry in her eyes. The muscular woman could feel her heart beating loudly behind her breasts. Why was she so worried? It's not like Thunderclan cared about her, she could do what she liked.

The dark haired girl held out her hand and shook his, "A gentleman huh Cole?" Her voice was like smooth drizzling caramel, with a slight southern accent. Slurring certain sounds and words and accenting different parts of a word. It was only noticable if you really focused. The open window let a breeze through that rustled her silky hair, such a beautiful day couldn't be wasted. Her book got slid out of the way when she took his hand, "Oh have you ever read this one? It's amazing." Her eyes lit up as she looked over the beautiful cover, it had trees and a vine covered metal fence.

"I guess you could say that." The golden eyes boy replied, retracting his hand and resting it on the table. The wind that blew through rustled his hair, putting it out of place while Erin's went back into place. Cole tried to ignore the feeling, but he soon found himself reaching his hand up to fix it, then resting it back down again. His gaze shifted to the book as she brought it into conversation. He searched the cover which read 'The Secret Garden' in a thin font, the rest of the cover showed trees and a fence covered in vines. Cole shook his head in response to the girls question. "I can't say I have." He spoke. The cover, although pretty, didn't look like something that would catch his eye though he was sure one of his sisters, Ginny or Frankie, would have read it. "What's it about?" The boy asked, wanting to maintain conversation.

Erin watched as he fixed his hair, a slight smile covering her face. She was happy to have someone to talk to, it had been a while. The woman replied, "It's about a boy who is paralyzed and stays inside all the time. He's borderline dying and a girl comes to live with them and she shows him that the world is beautiful and he can't waste his time inside." She fondly touched the paperback book and looked back up, "The children form a bond of love through the garden." A light blush was covering her cheeks, "Its sappy but I love it."

"Heh. Yep, definitely something my sisters would read." He commented with a slight smirk. She honestly didn't seem half-bad for a ThunderClanner despite what hes heard from the people in his own clan. From what hes heard, ThunderClan was supposed to be boastful but she didn't appear completely full of herself at all which was good for the boy, as almost nothing bothers him more than overly-cocky people. Cole looked up to the girl and noticed a slight blush forming on her cheeks. Why did girls always get so strange while thinking about romance? It was never really something that appealed to him, but that may just be because he's never really been in an actual relationship.

"I usually like action books but this one gets me everytime," she smiled. "Oh you have sisters? That's awesome, I don't have any siblings," the brunette had always wanted a brother to protect her. "What's it like in Windclan? My grandfather used to tell me it was a nice clan, despite it being a rival clan. He was loyal to Thunderclan but..I don't feel like it's my home anymore." Her blue eyes looked up to him, she had never told anyone that. It was easier to tell a stranger what was on your mind but this guy was different. Erin had only ever dated Crowley and he was dead now. She was not familiar with much emotional stuff.

"Yeah. Ginny or Frankie." Cole answered thinking about his siblings. He was the eldest, so he was always the one to look after them even though the age-difference was so small. If you asked him, he would say they get on his nerves but he wouldn't trade them for the world. The pale boy shrugged. "It's alright. There isn't much coverage aside from the buildings, but I can't complain." He spoke, trying to think of how to describe it. It must be the same as any other clan. His eyebrows went up a little as she told him she didn't feel at home in her own clan anymore. "Why's that? I've heard ThunderClan is pretty nice." Cole asked, growing slightly curious. He normally didn't care for others problems, but he had nothing better to do and the girl seemed quite alright so he may as well stick around.

Erin twiddled her thumbs and spoke to the boy, "I've never felt welcome ever since my grandpa died. So I come here and read instead of staying there." She didn't want to tell the boy that she had a bastard son at home, he would think she was a tramp. Crowley had promised they would be together forever, but death doesn't really halter for promises. She sighed and looked back up at him, "I'm sure it's a good clan. I..It's just not really for me."

"And what were you planning on doing about that?" Cole asked bluntly. If she didn't feel at home in her own home anymore, it was obvious she needed to do something about it. The boy wasn't sure what, as he never had to experience such a thing, but he was sure there was something. Maybe she could move in with a friend in a different clan? The clans didn't quite enjoy when that happens, but he knows it does at times. If he were in her position, he could see himself doing something similar but he wasn't quite sure who he would move in with seeing as he didn't have many close friends to begin with. The dark haired boy quickly dismissed the thought and tuned back into the present, waiting for the girls response.

Erin quietly sat and pondered what she would truthfully do. The small woman looked up at him, "I..I don't know. I guess my only choice is to stay where I am now." Her eyes showed heartbreak at her homes hate for her. Tilting her head she said quietly, "Would..you wanna go for a walk? I wasn't sure if you were getting cramped." Her blue eyes looked hopeful, "We're in common grounds here." Erin didn't have many friends so the thought of having a cute guy friend was great.

"Huh? Oh, sure." He smiled. He often took walks around the city, but he was usually alone with his thoughts to himself, so it would be nice for him to have someone accompany him this time around. "Have any place in mind?" Cole asked, taking another drink of his iced coffee. It was almost gone now, so he wouldn't have to carry it around much during the walk. If he did though, he was sure they would find some place to dispose of the plastic cup. His mind immediately drifted to the park. It was a nice place, and there was often a man sitting on one of the benches strumming away on his guitar so if conversation fell short, there would still be music to fill their ears. Aside from the guitar man, there were the occasional college students 'studying' in the grass, so it was never very loud. If they grew hungry, he knew of a food truck he often stopped to get lunch at. The more he thought about it, the more he realized the park would be a nice destination at some point during the day whether Erin was with him or not.

"Great," she was blushing but was mostly embarrassed that she was showing so much excitement. Her blue eyes lit up as she walked out of the coffee shop with Cole. Slipping in her jacket she realized it was starting to transition to fall already. Erin turned to her companion, "How old are you Cole?" She was curious as to what he would say, "I'm 20 now." Her hands dangled at her sides, occasionally they would either brush against her leg or touch the boy's. Which would make her blush more, she wasn't looking for a relationship at all but something about Cole was exciting.

Cole pushed out his chair, careful not to make the legs scrape and squeak against the wood floors, before standing up and straightening out his red pullover hoodie. The boy followed close behind his new companion, stepping ahead of her to hold the door open for her, closing it gently behind him. He heard her ask him a question and soon stepped back to her side, looking at the brown haired girl as she spoke. "I just turned 19 about a month or so ago." He replied, feeling his hand graze against hers and suppressed a faint blush the best he could. "Oh yeah, I think I heard the cashier say today was your birthday, right?" The pale teen asked, almost feeling as though he should do something for her even though they had just met.

Erin nodded at his comment, "I figured. So we're pretty close to the same age." She walked along and saw all the couples at the park, either sitting in the grass talking or just walking and holding hands. In her mind she was unsure if she could ever fall in love again but her heart knew it was possible. Her blue eyes settled to the ground until she felt her hand graze his again, a dark blush covered her face. Looking over to him she smiled, her eyes bright and her face innocent. "Yes, this has been a strange birthday for me since.." She looked down and said softly, "My family is gone." Truthfully she had her cousin but she didn't feel that close with her. Erin looked back up to Cole with a twinge of sadness in her eyes, "Everyone has their cross to bear."

As the two entered the park, Cole could see the usual groups and couples that littered the grass sheltered by the leafy maple and oak trees. He listened as his companion speak about her family and a pang of sadness tugged at him. Although they often got on her nerves, the boy couldn't begin to imagine what his life would be like without his family around. The dark haired boy looked over at Erin before speaking. "Well was there anything in particular you wanted to do for your birthday?" He asked, worried it wouldn't come off as weird seeing as they just met that morning. He didn't have much money on him, but offering to do something was the least he could do.

Erin looked at him, what did she want? Her face was soft with thought, "I..I have always wanted to walk around the fair with a friend." She was blushing and shuffling a little. The fair was near and it was pretty cheap, not to mention it was in neutral grounds. Quietly she watched him in hope that he would agree. They were actually walking in the right direction, they would come to it eventually. The small woman chuckled out of nerves. Why did he make her so nervous? It was a good feeling at the same time.

Cole listened to her reply, pleasantly surprised she didn't want to do something overly expensive and smiled. "Sure, we can do that." He replied, his short, black hair swaying in the gentle breeze. Now that he really thought about it, the last time he had gone to the fair was a couple years ago. He and his sisters used to go every year, but they lately started dating and he was soon forgotten; not that he really minded all that much. Sure, the rides were fun and the lemonade and elephant ears were always good, but it never really bothered him he was left at home while they were out and about.

Erin jumped up and down, "Yes!" She was smiling from ear to ear and then blushed in embarressment. "I..I'm sorry. I never got to go and have always wanted to," for being twenty years old she still had moments when she was childlike in reactions. "You know Cole...I know I just met you but you are pretty cool," she smiled and walked quickly while looking behind her. With her hair pulled back the wind would pull at her ponytail and the light would make her caramel highlights shine. Soon they were on the fairgrounds and Erin was taken aback, "Wow...it's huge!" Her eyes were wide to take in everything.

Cole smiled, finding it quite entertaining how excited Erin got about going to the fair. 'I guess she wasn't kidding about never going after all..' He thought as she opened her mouth to speak again. "Thanks." He replied, walking after her and soon catching up as they headed to the fair.
The walk was fairly short and soon the boy could see the Ferris wheel along with a couple other rides come into view. A few moment passed and they were at the gates. Small booths were in between the gate entrances, each containing a ticket vendor. Each ticket was only a dollar since you usually end up spending well over $20 by the end of the day on food alone. Cole walked up to the booth, pulling out his wallet and handing the vendor two dollars, getting small red tickets in return, handing one of them to Erin.

Erin smiled and looked over the red ticket like she was expecting something strange on it. She turned to her friend, "What's your favorite ride?" The woman had seen the ferris wheel and the witches wheel but wasn't sure what they were called. Erin turned to him and chuckled, "I'm gonna have to pay you back somehow." She brushed her bangs out of her eyes and looked around. There were games and carnies yelling and laughing. It seemed so joyous!

Cole shook his head. "No need, it's your birthday after all." He spoke, thinking of his favorite rides. "It's been a while since I've been here, but the Fireball's fun and I recall my sisters always taking me to the octopus.. We also always made sure to ride the ferris wheel at night so we could see all the lights.." The boy replied, trying to recall what all he rode last he was here. "But we can ride anything you'd like, I guess." He replied with a shrug. Since it was her first time, he thought about going to get the wrist bands so they did't have to pay anywhere between one and five dollars per ride, though he guess it depended if she was planning on riding everything.

Erin shuffled her feet, "I feel bad though. I should at least buy my own band." Her eyes were big as if she was trying to negotiate with him. The young lady had never felt comfortable with others spending their money on her. She walked over to the line for the bands, her eyes set on his as if to read his mind. This place was huge and intimidating yet wonderful and aweinspiring at the same time. The light breeze twined through her hair and let a slight blush on her nose. Erin had no fat on her so she got cold easily, an annoying trait.

Cole thought about pressing to pay, though soon decided he should just let her pay for the bands and he could get her something to eat later on after they rode a couple of rides. The dark hair boy let out a suppressed sigh before speaking. "If you insist." He replied, walking next to the brown haired girl as they headed towards the line. It was quite long, through that was to be expected during this time of the day and they were only going to get longer from here. A slight, chilly breeze blew at the two from the left and the boy soon put his hands into his hoodies pocket. Even though he was used to chilly weather, he had become quite accustomed to the summers warm temperature and honestly didn't really want it to leave though he knew it couldn't be helped. His amber gaze shifted over to his companion, who appeared to be getting cold and he hoped a few rides would help warm her up.

Erin smiled and placed the money down on the counter. The man behind the counter grabbed her arm and put the wristband on. She smiled and stepped back so Cole could get his put on. Erin warmed up her nose with the back of her hand. Once her friend got his band on she tried to walk a little closer but a teenager bumped hard into her, causing her to land on Cole. Her face was on his chest and she had grabbed his sides for support. The kid got scared and ran off, the small brunette looked up with a blush in her face. They were so close, when she looked up her nose slightly touched his. She was shaking and swallowed hard in anticipation, would he be mad at her or...

Cole quickly got his wristband and put it on, being sure to not get the sticky part of it on his skin. These things were always such a pain, he wondered why they haven't made a different way of putting them on already. The dark haired boy stepped away from the line and towards his brunette companion when someone bumped into her, quickly running away as she toppled into him and knocking him over. The two landed with a thud and the boy flinched as he slammed down on the pavement. He would have been fine if his instincts didn't kick in, causing him to try to catch the girl instead of break his own fall. His head hurt, but was relieved to not feel any blood pooling around it. He opened his eyes to see his face right in front of Erin's, so close he could feel their noses touch. Cole blushed as he tried to ignore the fact there was a girl laying on top of him as he waited for the girl to get off of him so he could stand.

Erin quickly scooped up Cole and looked at the back of his head, he wasn't bleeding which was good. Her motherly instincts were kicking in again, "You ok? Can you see everything ok?" Which would've been a good question had his face not been buried in her chest in the confusion. Erin had squeezed him so tight it wouldn't be surprising if he passed out from her suffocating him. The brunette pulled him back and blushed badly, why was she such a mess around him?! Was she attracted to him, 'I mean..he is cute...and nice..and no! He doesn't like me!' Erin thought there was no way he could like a plain girl like her. She sighed and looked down dejectedly, they had been so close and he didn't looked in the least bit pleasantly surprised. The small woman didn't think of the fact that he had just smacked his head on the concrete, "I..I'm sorry." Even though it wasn't her fault she felt awful.

Cole staggered to his feet as the smaller girl got up off of him. He rubbed his head with one hand, flinching a little when she suddenly reached forward and grabbed him, practically suffocating him with her chest. He heard her question, but did not answer as it would be rude to speak in a position such as this. Thankfully, Erin soon pulled him away from her and apologized. The dark haired boy tried to mask the fact he was blushing by playing it cool and hoping it would just be mistaken for his face reacting to the chilly breeze. "It's fine, don't worry about it." He spoke, though he wanted nothing more than to chase after whoever it was that knocked them down and teaching him a thing or two. The jerk didn't even have the decency to stick around and see if they were okay. If he had been in a car, the two could have filed charges, but Cole was almost positive you couldn't file charges against a hit-and-run when there wasn't a vehicle in the situation. "Are you alright?" He asked, although he was the one who took the impact from the cement and not her. His head was killing him, but he wasn't about to just call the day to an end here, especially since they had just gotten here.

Erin pulled him up and brushed off her clothes, "I'm ok. Though I'm quite worried about you." She looked at his face, he was blushing but that could've been from the pain. Her blue eyes were scanning over him, "Maybe a snack would make you feel better?" She grabbed his wrist and gingerly pulled him through the crowd. They came to a place where they had cheesecake on a stick and dipped in chocolate, "I've always heard sweets are good for headaches...but that might've been a wife's tale." The small brunette realized she was still holding his wrist when she let go, her fingers brushing against his. Why was she so affected when they touched, everytime she did it was like her heart was racing.

Brushing off his own jacket, Cole shook his head. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine." He tried to reassure the girl, though wasn't quite sure it worked as as soon as they had finished fixing themselves up the brunette grabbed his wrist and began telling him about how supposedly sweets can calm a headache. He had never heard it before but he had also never heard anything opposite so now was as good of time as any to find out. Cheesecake on a stick, eh? It was going to be nice having that again. Although he was never really fond of sweets, he was quite the fan of cheesecake. The last time he came here, they had just run out as he made it to the front of the line and wasn't able to get any.
As the two weaved between the crowd of people, the boy soon felt a release of pressure and realized that Erin was still grasping his wrist. The release was soon accompanied by the awkward brushing of their fingers and Cole averted his golden gaze, not wanting to make eye contact and to 'play it cool'. He had never really gone on an actual date like this before.. I mean, you could call this a date.. right? Sure, the two weren't dating, but it was like a date.

Erin smiled and handed the cashier the money, recieving the delicacy. She handed one to Cole and began to suck on the frozen cheesecake. It was amazing, "Wow this is so good!" Her blue eyes were huge wiyh surprise, looking around she decided it was time for rides. After they both finished the snack she dragged him from ride to ride. It was starting to get dark when Erin turned to Cole, "Is it time to ride the ferris wheel?" She was excited and nervous, in all the movies she watched ferris wheels were a romantic place. The small brunette was quickly pulled over and had a flower wreath put on her head, "For the pretty lady!" Erin blushed and thanked the man shyly before walking back to Cole. The flowers made her look very feminine, bring out the blue in her eyes and the light blush of her lips. As they waited she scuffled her feet a little and looked to Cole with big worried eyes, "This wreath doesn't make me look dumb does it?"

Taking the sweet, Cole thanked Erin and began to eat it. He wasn't sure if it was making his head ache any less, but it sure did taste good. He recalled Ginny saying she was going to learn how to make this last time they came, though she never went up on that declaration and it simply left with the nights winds.
After they finished with their concession stop, the two went around ride-to-ride, being sure to ride each one at least once. It had been a while since Cole could remember having this kind of fun. Generally, he spent his days by himself or listening to his other sister, Frankie, go on and on about thing he honestly couldn't be bothered to give two hoots about though he would never tell her that.

After a few hours of rides and fair lemonade, the sky had begun to darken and the brunette stopped and asked the boy a question. He thought for a moment, his golden eyes gazing up at the sky, before nodding. "Yeah, by the time we get there, the whole place should be lit up." He replied, looking towards the large lit wheel. Almost as soon as the boy finished speaking, Erin was quickly pulled over and had a flower crown placed upon her head which quite reminded Cole of the images his sisters look at on the computer of famous stars like Robert Downey Jr. and Misha Collins with flower crowns photoshopped onto their heads that he never quite understood.
"This wreath doesn't make me look dumb does it?" The girl asked through worried eyes. With a smile, the pale boy shook his head. "Not at all." He replied, trying to reassure her she looked just fine. In fact, the flower crown gave he a feminine charm that was actually quite alluring. It looked cute.. not that he would ever tell her that. They had just met. He could never do that.. or at least, that's what he wanted to think.

Erin blushed and waited in line with him, he was so kind. Her heart was thumping and all around them the shops and rides were lighting up. The brunette smiled and grabbed his hand, "We gotta get there!" Her face was bright red as she held his hand but it felt right at the same time. As she rushed to the ride the line was pretty short and getting shorter. Once waiting she realized that they were still holding hands, Erin didn't want to let go but Cole probably thought badly of her. Her pink lips were pulled back a little as she bit it, what would she do?

As the boy was about to start walking to the ride, he felt something grab his hand and pull him towards the direction of the wheel. He looked forward to see Erin leading him to the large, metal contraption and could feel a slight blush pull across his face as his fingers intertwined with hers. After about a minute of weaving through the dispersing crowd, the two had reached the lit up wheel and Cole's eyes glanced upwards at it and was relieved to not have a fear of heights.
The couple waited in the shortening line when the boy realized he had still been holding Erin's hand. Did she want to hold his hand? or was she being polite as to not pulling away? He wasn't quite sure how to act in the moment, so the pale teen decided against pulling away from her grasp.
Before he knew it, they were in the front of the line and were being loaded into a red cart with the number "19" painted onto the side. Cole released the brunettes hand and climbed into the ride, sitting across from her and waited for the ride to start, trying to think of something for the two to talk about.

Cole was holding her hand! She blushed and enjoyed her moments of bliss. Quietly she looked over him while the line moved, it only seemed like a second before their cart was before them. As his fingers left hers she watched him wait in the cart for her, a sweet smile was on her face. He was so different and Erin just wanted to relish in the moment. Quickly she hopped in the cart, as it began to move it shook the small woman around and she fell back against Cole. It was beautiful, so many lights and the cool breeze making her soft skin blush even more than it already was. Feeling her nerves build up she burst out what she was thinking, "I..I like you." A dark red blush covered her face and she covered her mouth in embarressment.

As the ride began to move, Cole shifted close to the wall and placed his arm on the edge of the small gate, his golden eyes gazing downwards as the two were lifted into the air, the cold nights breeze tugging at his short, black hair. They sat in silence for a moment when suddenly, Erin blurted something out, quickly covering her mouth in embarrassment. The boy turned himself so that he was facing the blushing girl who was obviously now feeling a bit of panic after what she just said. How should he react to this? He had never really had anyone develop those kinds of feelings for him. Did he like her back? She was very nice, albeit a bit awkward, but what was that feeling he got in his chest when she was around? Were his sisters not kidding at love at first sight really exists? Not wanting to prolong her feelings of worry, Cole gave a slight smile before speaking "I like you too.". Thinking back on this moment, he supposed it could be viewed as a bit cliche, but still he had to admit the atmosphere was perfect. The chilly breeze combined with the bright fair lights was almost like a dream.

Erin smiled brightly once he admitted his feelings for her. She reached her hand over and touched his softly, which sent chills up her spine. It was so strange to fall for someone when you weren't looking. The small woman looked at Cole with bright blue eyes. Her heart pounding and a light blush across her cheeks. "I..Thank you for today. This has been the best birthday." She kissed him on the cheek in gratitude. Her lips were soft and her face was young and beautiful. The flower crown was still on her head, such feminine charm for her being a young mother.

As the girl leaned forward and gave him a kiss, Cole could feel his cheeks begin to redden in a blush. In all of his years, he would never imagine such a mundane day such as today started out to be would turn into such a wonderful night. "Not a problem at all, it was my pleasure." He replied with a smile, still grasping her hands in his own. He could feel the ride begin to slowly descend and slow as they were brought to the end of the ride. Cole wasn't quite sure he wanted it to end, but everything comes to an end eventually and that's when something occurred to him; they were both part of separate gangs. How were they ever to see each other again? He then remembered his cell phone and how they could text each other to set up secret rendezvous behind the leader's backs. Although doing so was dangerous and could be viewed as treacherous, for some reason the boy didn't seem to mind so long as he would be able to see Erin again.

Erin felt the ride stop and held his hand as they walked out of the cart. Her cheeks red and her hair swaying in the breeze, "I..I wanna see you again." She held both his hands in hers and looked up into his eyes. Her cheeks still red with blush, how badly she just wanted to cuddle with him and feel the warmth of another human being. The woman hugged him quickly and felt reassured, "I hate my gang. I would be willing to pack up tonight and leave. I..I have a child..I should've told you sooner but I need to protect him." Tears streamed down her face, "His father died a year ago. I..I need help. This may be sudden but..can I runaway with you?"

As the two walked out of the cart hand-in-hand, Cole felt at ease with the world. He didn't feel as annoyed by all the voices around him as her normally did and things just felt right. When she stopped, the boy looked over at the girl somewhat confused. Then she started to speak, saying the words he had been thinking in the ride 'I want to see you again'. The words were almost reassuring to him, and made him think that maybe there are more than a few people in the city who really enjoy his company.
The night was going just as his sisters fairy tales when Erin continued speaking, telling him about how she hates it in her gang and how she has a child. A child? No way. She looked much too in good shape to have given birth and she honestly didn't look like the child-owning-type. The initial shock washing away, Cole looked into Erin's bright blue eyes which were now piling with tears when she said the most shocking thing yet 'can I run away with you?'. He fell silent for a moment, wondering what he should do. He had only just met the girl, but he couldn't just leave her hanging like this. Taking a deep breath, Cole gathered his words and began to speak. "Erin, don't you think this is a little rash?" He started, hoping his words wouldn't come off as rude. "Please don't take this the wrong way but we had only just met.." He continued, his mind still trying to find the right conclusion to come to. "I have an idea; before we move into something this quickly, how about we meet up every night for a month and get coffee? If all goes well, I'm sure my sisters wont mind having another person around, especially someone as kind as you." The boy finished, hoping he had worded everything as kindly as possible.

Erin felt as though her heart would stop when he mentioned how rash it was. It was all true but she had just thought things would be easier for once. As he thought up a plan she tried to wipe away her tears but was sobbing in fear. "I..I just don't want them to hurt my son. A..a month should be ok." She was sniffling and tryng to pull herself together. "I..I didn't mean to ruin everything.." Her face was covered in shame as she looked away, sorrow filling her heart. She always managed to push people away. "I..i'm sorry." She slowly walked with her head hung, tears dripping down.

Realizing how sad his words made her, Cole began to panic. Oh dear what had he done? Hurt her son? Why would they hurt a child? Surely the ThunderGang wasn't so bad they would target their own children? You'd expect to hear such things come from ShadowGang considering their past, but not Thunder. Growing worried with the girls sobs and saddened mood, Cole quickly walked after the brunette and pulled her into a tight hug, stroking her hair in attempts to console her. "Don't worry, you haven't ruined a thing. Calm down, Erin. It's alright." He spoke in a soothing voice, trying to think of what to do. Oh how could he ruin what was becoming such a fantastic night? Maybe this is why he's never had a girlfriend before now?

Erin was pulled into his hug and felt awful for making a scene. Her tears landing on his shirt, "I'm sorry!" Her shaking was frightening, "My son...he's half clan. The son of a rogue...many don't take so kindly to that. No one dares speaks to me or him." Her arms were so tight around Cole, the kind man. Out of all the wonderful women that could've caught his attention the poor man was stuck with one with such troubles and saddening worries. How badly she wished that she could give him a perfect and worry-free life...it couldn't be. All she was was trouble, the first man to love her was dead and she was left with his bastard child.

The boy remained there, keeping the crying girl close to him. "It's okay.." He spoke with a soft voice, still trying to comfort the girl. Upon hearing more about her son, it all started to make sense. The rogues around the gangs were quite frowned upon and considered brutes and thieves so it would make sense for the rest of Thunder's Gang to not enjoy having a mix child around. Although the gangs rules and ways of thinking almost sounds like racism, it wasn't so. Cole wasn't exactly sure of what ignited the fire between the groups, but it had been burning brightly ever sense. Not even cross-gang friendships were heavily valued. Looking up from Erin, who was still had her face buried into his shirt, Cole could see a couple people looking at them as they passed, but none of them seemed to be from either gangs, so all should be okay when they returned home.

"Let's..le..leave here," she held his hand and walked out the exit of the fairgrounds. "I..I'm sorry again." She sat down where they were, it was a bench behind the closest building. The tears had stopped and she seemed to be feeling better. "Thank you for being so understanding," she laid her head on his shoulder and sighed. "I'm not usually a basketcase. I just have been having a rough time and you were so sweet." She looked at him with calmer eyes and her hand came up to rest on his cheek. "You are wonderful and I am greatful to be with you. I just hope that I didn't ruin your opinion of me." She was hesitant but leaned forward and lightly kissed him on the lips. It tingled and made her feel as though she was flying. He was a great tom and she hoped that he still wanted to continue with their relationship.

Nodding silently, Cole followed Erin's lead as the two walked out of the fair grounds to avoid the crowds of people who looked at them while they passed. Within minutes, they were sitting on a secluded bench under a lamppost behind the closed building to them. That was one of the only good things about the city; there was always somewhere to go to sit and chat. The girl laid her head on his shoulder and her hand on his cheek and began to speak, still apologizing for what had happened tonight. "It's alright. I understand. Everyone needs to let it all out once and a while." He spoke, remembering what his mother had told him back in sixth grade when his sister, Frankie, had begun going to him with her troubles instead of Ginny. Almost as soon as he finished speaking, Cole could feel the girl shift her position slightly, lifting her head up to his to give him a proper kiss. "Not at all." He spoke in response to what she said beforehand as they pulled away from the kiss. Sure, Erin did seem a bit emotionally unstable, but this is to be expected from what she has told him about her life thus far. She was so young yet such terrible things had happened to her already.
